Tito Rutilio Romero

SALT LAKE CITY — Tito Rutilio Romero, 84, died Jan. 26, 2011.

Romero was born July 10, 1926, in Taos, N.M. to Ricardo and Solidea Romero. He served his country in World War II as a Private First Class rifleman with the 130th Infantry Division. On Jan. 15, 1952, he married Marcella G. Oliver. He worked for Kennecott Copper as a heavy equipment operator for more than 37 years. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, watching football and spending time at Bear Lake. He also enjoyed playing cards, particularly poker, with friends and family.

He is survived by his wife; children Barbara (Steve), Joann (John), Mary, Rosella (Tony), and Stephanie; brothers Ricky (Mary), Armando, Louie (Naomie), and Pat (Margie); sisters Kate (Dan) and Cruzita (Juan); and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at Saint Patrick Catholic Church. Burial was in Valley View Cemetery.
