The St. Joseph Elementary School team took first place in the Northern Utah MATHCOUNTS Competition Series on Feb. 9. In individual results, one St. Joseph student placed fourth overall and another placed eighth. They competed against 64 students from 15 schools. The team will advance to the state competition on March 9, with the possibility of securing a place in the national competition, which will be May 11-14 in Orlando, Fla.
