DRAPER — Entering the Division I state tournament as the No. 2 seed,  the Juan Diego Catholic High School boys lacrosse team defeated Corner Canyon High School to enter the championship game.
“The Soaring Eagle gave the eventual state champions, Brighton High School, everything they wanted in the championship game, but came up short, losing 8-6,” said Chris Long, Juan Diego CHS athletic director. 
The team started its season with a multi-state tournament in Boise, Idaho. In the regular season, they went 17-2 loss record, with the overall record 19-5. 
Individual honors for the team are First Team All-State Honors: Senior Tristan Courtney, midfield; junior Ryan Baker, defense; and sophomore Bo Caldwell, long stick midfield.
Second Team All-State Honors: Senior Sean Edwards, goalie; and junior Chantz Hower, midfield.
Honorable Mention: Senior Alec Meyer, attack; and senior Payton Carson, defense.
