The Judge Memorial Catholic High School cross country team has been busy running, not only on the course but also to volunteer. On Oct. 2, the Bulldogs met up with Juan Diego CHS for the annual Cross Country Cross Town Showdown. Both the Judge girls and boys came out victorious. In the girls’ race, Katie Scott, Allie Eggert and Rachel Shubella took the top three spots to guarantee the victory for the Lady Bulldogs; while in the boys’ race, Zach Shubella, Eric Heideman and Matt Shiramizu swept the first three places, and almost every Bulldog runner had a personal record. The next morning, the Bulldog runners took a break from their rigorous training to give back to the community by volunteering, with some of their parents, at the Volunteers of America Homeless Youth Center. The runners spent their morning organizing food and clothing donations that will go directly to homeless youth.
