The St. Joseph Villa Volunteers, who for 60 years donated time and effort to the residents of the senior facility in Salt Lake City, were honored at a Dec. 14 luncheon for their service. The volunteer group has disbanded because it has not received new members and the current members are aging. At the luncheon, they were presented with four plaques. The plaques recognize the volunteers’ more than 200,000 total volunteer hours, the 5,007.35 hours donated this year, the 60 years of service to the volunteer gift shop, and the 60 years of service from 1959 to 2019. Also, there was a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a newly renovated resident family room, which is dedicated in honor of the volunteers.
