SALT LAKE CITY — Violet M. Ruga Wharton, 87, passed away July 22, 2013. Wharton was a quiet, humble Catholic who seldom missed Mass. By watching her care for her beloved late husband Jack, friends and family learned the meaning of true love. Wharton was preceded in death by her husband, Jack. Wharton is survived by her sister, Rosalie; sons Tom (Nancy), and Derk (Alicia); daughter Lori Nickerson (Nate); and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A funeral Mass was celebrated at Saint Ann Catholic Church.
