SANDY — Blessed Sacrament Parish in Sandy is offering a faith formation class for adults on the lost practice of blessing your children.

The class will take place on Sunday, Feb. 24.

“We selected this theme to help parents share the faith to their children,” said Greg Werking, who is in charge of offering this faith formation class.

The primary teachers of the faith are parents, said Werking, a Saint Thomas More parishioner and deacon candidate, so “this class is primarily emphasized to help parents, grandparents and godparents learn about the practice of blessing loved ones.”

Werking expects that people who attend “will get out of this class a renewed excitement for the forgotten practice of blessing your loved ones and to feel comfortable integrating the practice in the daily life of their family.”

In “Blessing of Family: Inspiring Words from Pope Francis,” the Holy Father said that “when families bring children into the world, train them in faith and sound values, and teach them to contribute to society, they become a blessing in our world.”
