SALT LAKE CITY — The crowd gathered at Memorial House in Memory Grove June 3 was described as "stellar." Artists, musicians, dancers, poets, writers, and arts aficionados came to honor Fred C. Adams, founder of the Utah Shakespearean Festival. Adams received the 19th annual Madeleine Festival of the Arts and Humanities Award for Distinguished Service to the Arts and Humanities in a room that was once a stage.

SALT LAKE CITY — A collaboration of caring is being celebrated between Catholic Relief Services (CRS) and the Humanitarian Emergency Response and Welfare Services of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS). The LDS Church has the ability to manufacture nutritional food supplements, gather huge amounts of clothing, and assemble countless personal hygiene kits for people who are victims of famine and other natural disasters, and CRS has the international infrastructures in place to deliver the goods to the people who need them most.

SALT LAKE CITY — The Diocese of Salt Lake City has long depended on the generosity and the spirit of foreign-born priests to continue its ministry and its life here. May 31 saw two more men, Father José Gregorio Rausseo Gómez, a native of Venezuela, and Father Manuel de Jesús Cerón Valdéz of Mexico ordained to the priesthood for the Diocese of Salt Lake City by Bishop John C. Wester in the Cathedral of the Madeleine.
