SALT LAKE CITY — The eighth grade class at Kearns-Saint Ann School chose sorting and packing cans at the Utah Food Bank as their service project this year. In addition, they presented Hayley Greer, of the Utah Food Bank with a check for $900, of which $383 came from the eighth-grade spook alley fund raiser, and the remainder from the faculty and staff in lieu of their annual Christmas gift exchange.

>>>BOUNTIFUL — The students at Saint Olaf Catholic School donated $394 to the family of deceased North Salt Lake Police Officer Charles Skinner, who was tragically killed on Nov. 8, 2008 while on duty. Several students joined together to deposit the donation after school on Nov. 24, at Zion’s Bank North Salt Lake Branch in a fund for Officer Skinner’s family.
