SALT LAKE CITY — A change of location from Juan Diego Catholic High School to the University Park Marriott Hotel didn’t dampen the enthusiasm of the more than 300 guests at Blessed Sacrament Elementary School’s annual Winterfest Anniversary Ball Feb. 25. The fund raiser, organized by Karen D’Antuono and Pam Cronin with 13 committee members, was hosted by Master of Ceremonies Randall Carlisle of ABC-4 News, and marked the 20th anniversary of the school’s opening.

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. — Msgr. J. Terrence Fitzgerald, for the past 11 years the vicar general of the Diocese of Salt Lake City, was elected diocesan administrator and will oversee the diocese until a new bishop is appointed by Pope Benedict XVI.

SALT LAKE CITY — "Anastasia was the perfect example of inner and outer beauty," said her boyfriend Alex Price, a senior at Judge Memorial Catholic High School. "The first time I saw her was in the school cafeteria. She walked through the door with her best friend Ashley Thomas, and she had a glowing aura around her as if she was an angel. We spoke, and I was nervous because I thought she would not talk to me, but she was kind, which made her twice as beautiful."

SALT LAKE CITY — "I want to affirm the love of the Church the Catholic Woman’s League has as you reach out in service in so many ways," said newly appointed Diocesan Administrator Msgr. J. Terrence Fitzgerald. "This is my first public ceremony as the new administrator."

First of all, I wish to declare my gratitude to His Holiness, Pope Benedict XVI, for the confidence he has expressed in me by appointing me the eighth Archbishop of San Francisco. I am genuinely conscious of my own shortcomings and therefore of my need for your prayer and God’s light and strength and grace as I assume this office. I am grateful as well to Msgr. Leopoldo Girelli, representing the Apostolic Nunciature here today.
