Maria Cruz Gray honored by National Catholic Association of Diocesan Directors for Hispanic Minist

Maria Cruz Gray, director of the Diocese of Salt Lake City's Hispanic Ministries, has been selected to receive the inaugural Outstanding Diocesan Director of Hispanic Ministry Award from the National Catholic Association of Diocesan Directors for Hispanic Ministry. The award will recognize Gray for her "accompishments that are the embodiment of the dedication and commitment to making a positive impact in their community and diocese in the area of Hispanic/Latino Ministry." DRAPER — More than a thousand family members and friends gathered to say good-bye to Adam Christopher Colosimo at his funeral Mass at Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church July 14. Colosimo was remembered as a loving son, brother, and cousin, and an athlete and scholar.

SALT LAKE CITY — A year after the last of the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word departed Salt Lake City in the wake of the sale of St. Joseph Villa, their loss is still felt. The sisters founded the Villa in 1947; the facility was transferred to the non-profit group CHRISTUS in 1994 and last year sold to the for-profit group Ensign. With the sale, the handful of sisters who lived in Salt Lake City moved to their mother house in Texas.
