DRAPER — From the first fresh rose laid at the base of the statue of Saint Juan Diego May 24 in the rose garden in the high school’s plaza, to the last 2008 graduate who left the auditorium after the commencement exercises, the school’s theme: Spiritus Donorum (the Spirit of Giving) and the theme of the 2008 class, Unity, permeated the ceremonies.

St. Francis Xavier Regional School won top honors as the first place school for the second year in a row at the Diocesan Science Fair. Vicky Simpson was the first place teacher at the 2008 Diocesan Science Fair.
>>>SALT LAKE CITY — Judge Memorial Catholic High School won their fourth straight State Championship Mock Trail title in April. They won with only one team made up of all juniors and one sophomore. The team went on to compete in National Mock Trial Competition in Wilmington, Del., May 7 to May 11.
>>>SALT LAKE CITY — The gymnasium at Saint Vincent de Paul Elementary School was transformed into the village of Wemmicksville April 23 and 24 for the production of the annual kindergarten opera.
>>>SALT LAKE CITY — Luke Puskedra, a recent Judge Memorial Catholic High School graduate, leads the nation in the 3,200 meter by breaking his own record of 8:56 (eight minutes, 56 seconds) with a time of 8:46.40, which was 36 seconds ahead of his nearest competitor. He accomplished this milestone in the State Championship Track finals at Brigham Young University (BYU) May 16-17. The next closest time in the nation is 8:48.9 by Chris Derrick from Neuqua Valley High School in Naperville, Ill.
