SALT LAKE CITY— Aunque Pascual Reynoso ya no juega fútbol, es todavía muy fanático de este deporte. Cuando llegué a su casa, el partido de Atlas, el equipo de Reynoso, contra Lanús estaba en la televisión. Reynoso estaba atento a todas mis preguntas, pero no podía evitar ver el marcador. "Este es un partido de la Copa Libertadores. Los de blanco son del Atlas. Estamos ganando 1-0", dijo. Después continuó, "Siempre he llevado una vida saludable. Nunca he probado las drogas, el cigarro o el alcohol; y jugaba fúbol en los fines de semana", dijo Reynoso.

SALT LAKE CITY— Even though Pascual Reynoso cannot play soccer anymore, he is still a huge fan of this sport. When I got to his house, the match Atlas, Reynoso’s team, vs. Lanus was on the television screen. He was attentive to all of my interview questions, but at the same time he could not avoid looking at the score. "This is a match for the Libertadores Cup. The ones in white are Atlas. We’re winning 1-0," he said. Then he continued, "I’ve always had a healthy lifestyle. I’ve never tried drugs, smoked, or drank, and I’d play soccer on the weekends," he said.

NOTRE DAME, Ind. — The Holy Cross History Association will hold its annual conference June 12-14, 2008 at the Red Lion Hotel in Salt Lake City. Founded in 1984, the association exists to promote historical study of those religious communities which trace their origins to Blessed Basile A. Moreau of Le Mans, France. The association is meeting in Salt Lake City because of the important role the Sisters of the Holy Cross have played and continue to play in Utah.

SALT LAKE CITY — The students in grades one through eight at Saint Vincent de Paul School know more about sculpture and ceramics than they used to, and all students can see highlights of the liturgical year just by looking at the outside wall of the school. April 17 marked the official unveiling of "Four Seasons," a mural in four parts, an art project created by local Utah artist Margo Bryan Petersen and the students themselves.

SALT LAKE CITY — The Most Reverend John C. Wester, Bishop of Salt Lake City, was in Washington for the first days of Pope Benedict XVI’s visit to the United States. Bishop Wester was in the pope’s presence when he met well-wishers on the West Lawn of the White House April 16, then later that evening when the pope met with bishops at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. The next day, Bishop Wester attended the Mass at Nationals Park.
