Galligan-Stierle is the son of Dr. Michael Galligan-Stierle, the USCCB assistant secretary for higher education and campus ministry. The younger Galligan-Stierle is spending the summer moving from day to day between a slightly seedy hotel, circa 1920s, and Elizabethan England – all of this without one airline ticket.

Director Veola Burchett refers to her job as one-half helping couples fill out paperwork and priests and deacons process pre-marriage inventories, and one-half "talking couples off the ledge."
